Leslie’s Story: From ignored to magnetic
Hunter: So, before we started working together and turning your website into its current version, what was the problem that you were struggling with?
Leslie: I was getting referrals for a lot of clients that weren't really the type of clients that I wanted to work with. Um, so I really like working with millennial women and I was getting a lot of referrals for couples because my website was kind of featuring that I work with couples because I'm a marriage and family therapist. Um, and that's not really the type of client I was wanting.
Hunter: How was dealing with referrals that weren't the right fit for you?
Leslie: Stressed? I decided to work with you because not only can you build a great website, but you also have the marketing background to be very strategic about how you build that website because I could have spent hours on square skip space designing my own and it might've been okay, I have friends that have done that. But you know, the marketing piece and how to make that very strategic. So that was a lot of why I wanted to come to you.
Hunter: How do you think your life and business are gonna be better as a result of our work together?
Leslie: I think one of the things about my website that is changing my practice and thus my life is it's marketed toward the particular client I want to see. And so when I can help a client with a specific problem for them, it's then worth it to seek out my services and not someone else's. Even if that means I don't take their insurance because I'm not paneled with most insurance companies at this point. And that gives me a lot of freedom financially and personally. Um, so I think that's been a big change is that clients are willing to invest in it because my website shows I offer a specific service that they want.
Hunter: What would you say to other therapists who were in a similar position to where you were maybe six months ago?
Leslie: Well, I would highly encourage them to consider it to look at your all's process, um, what you have to offer. Obviously they have to budget for themselves to financially figure out is this investment gonna be worth it. I personally think though, pretty much all businesses need to have a good website. Um, it needs to be very user friendly on a cell phone 'cause that's how most people are gonna be looking at it. And so I just think it makes, I just think people probably take you more seriously when you have a website like that and they're more likely to consider services with you because it's easy to reach out and contact you. I love my website because it answers everyone's questions before they even reach out to me. So, I am getting traffic on my website and I am getting millennial women reach out to me. So I think I would highly encourage therapists to at least consider it and have a discussion with you to figure out if it would be worth it for them either at that time or in the future.
