Courtney’s Story: An introverted therapist conquers her marketing fears
Courtney Palmer is a licensed marriage and family therapist based in Oklahoma City. When we first connected, Courtney told us that she had avoided creating her website and working on her marketing for years because it felt as intimidating and dreadful as doing her taxes.
Courtney decided it was finally time to take the plunge and get this marked off her checklist. During the program, she made the brave and strategic decision to finally focus her practice in the area she enjoys most - relationships.
We’re proud to say Courtney told us that despite her fears, the process didn’t feel like doing her taxes at all - in fact, she said she even had a little bit fun. Read on to see Courtney’s new website, why she decided to work with us, and how it’s changed her life.
Before we started working together, what would you say was the major problem you struggled with?
I was feeling stagnant in how to bring new clients in. I felt like I was hitting a wall.
After completing the Ideal Caseload Program, what has been your biggest win?
I feel more confident in how to express why I'm doing what I'm doing. I feel like that's a win because I feel like it connects with people reaching out to work with me much better.
Another big win was deciding to put the word “dang” on my website... your copywriter Leo presented it to me after he had written the first draft of the website. I was like, "That feels weird, but it is how I would talk." If I was making my website on my own, I would never have written that. But now I’m glad it’s there as it feels more relatable to my clients and feels like “me”.
How do you feel about having your new website and marketing in place now?
I feel like a professional. It feels like just one more thing I can point to show the quality of services that I can provide. I know I'm good and that I'm going to keep getting better as a therapist - but I kinda suck at showing that.
What do you think other therapists should know about this program?
Know that it will be a very collaborative process with very friendly people. That was just the best. You guys are all so kind and easy to talk to. It was not intimidating at all - initially, I expected myself to feel more intimidated.
